What is ESOS?
The Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) is a mandatory energy assessment scheme for organisations in the UK that meet the qualification criteria. The Environment Agency is the UK scheme administrator.
Organisations that qualify for ESOS must carry out independent ESOS assessments every 4 years. These assessments are audits of the energy used by their buildings, industrial processes and transport to identify cost-effective energy saving measures, all large enterprises must have full compliance by 5th December 2015.
At Visolaris we understand that energy compliance is a new concept to a lot of our clients and we want to be able to offer advice and guidance throughout process. That is why we have partnered with the FTA (Freight Transport Association) to be able to offer ESOS to anyone who qualifies to be audited.
Visolaris will begin working with the FTA helping to support businesses to ensure they are compliant with the ESOS scheme and to encourage businesses to reap the benefits from applying energy efficiency measures.
The mandatory energy assessment applies throughout the UK to all large companies with over 250 employees or have an annual turnover in excess of €50 million euro, and audits are required every four years.
