Wind Case Example

Appledore School - solar

Appledore School is a small primary school situated in the coastal town of Appledore, North Devon. With them largely being mainly off grid their energy bills are higher than most buildings therefore were desperately looking for a reduction in their energy usage.

After a full survey from Lenwood Energies it was indicated that the electricity costs was the highest invoice and therefore solar PV would be the best renewable application for them to reduce their energy as they are using the school mainly during the daylight hours.

With not much available south facing roof space available Lenwood Energies came up with a 30kw design which was enough to be able to meet the demands of 17% of the schools usage.

After approaching a number of renewable energy companies we decided to use Lenwood Energies as they were the friendliest and most informative company that we came across, we are very happy with the service we received and would like to use them in the future.

Exmouth College - solar

Exmouth Community College is a comprehensive school in Exmouth, Devon, England. The college provides secondary education for 2,615 students aged 11 to 18, alongside additional courses for the community. The college has a huge electricity demand and looked towards renewables to see how they could reduce their bills. The local council approached our partner Lenwood Energies to look at how they could help. Lenwood Energies proposed the installation of 218 Dimplex solar panels on a number of the south facing roofs of the college which amounts to a 50kw Solar PV array in total.
